India vs South Africa 4th T20I, Tilak Varma's 2nd Consecutive T20I Century: Tilak Varma scripted history with a magnificent hundred during India's fourth and final T20I match against South Africa in Johannesburg.

The Wanderers Stadium witnessed a batting masterclass from India's Tilak and Sanju Samson as the duo smashed the South Africa bowlers.

Tilak Varma became only the second Indian to score two consecutive T20I centuries, having achieved the personal milestone in the third match as well.

Both of his centuries have come in the winning cause for India as the Men in Blue ended up winning the series 3-1.

Tilak has now joined Sanju Samson on the list of players to have smashed two tive T20I hundreds.

Samson has scored a hundred in the third T20I match against Bangladesh before repeating it in the series opener against the Proteas.


Indians to score consecutive T20I centuries

1) Sanju Samson - 111 vs Bangladesh, 107 vs South Africa

2) Tilak Varma - 107 not out vs South Africa, 120 not out vs South Africa

The 22-year-old played a memorable unbeaten knock of 120 runs in just 47 deliveries on the back of nine fours and 20 sixes.

He stitched a historic partnership of 210 runs for the second wicket with Sanju Samson who also smashed his third T20I hundred. He remained unbeaten on 109 runs off 56 balls.

Notably, all of Samson's three T20I hundreds have come in his last five innings.

The duo also became the first pair from a full-member nation to score centuries in the same innings in T20Is.

On the back of the power-hitting masterclass from Samson and Tilak, India scored 283/1 at the end of the innings - its second-highest T20I score after 297/6 against Bangladesh.

India did enough with the ball as well and bowled the hosts out for just 148 runs in 18.2 overs to pick up a massive win by 135 runs.

Tilak was adjudged as both Player of the Match and Player of the Series as he ended the series as the top run-getter with 280 runs to his name in four matches at an average of 140 and a strike rate of 198.58.
