India vs West Indies 1st Test: India reached 94/1 in the first session of the first day in the ongoing second Test against the West Indies at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi on Friday, October 10. Yashasvi Jaiswal (40) and Sai Sudharsan (16) remained at the crease at the end of the first session.

India kicked off the match on a positive note after opting to bat first. Rahul and Jaiswal looked in impressive touch and stitched a 58-run opening stand. Rahul had a promising outing as he came up with a 38-run contribution on the back of five fours and a six before he was dismissed by Jomel Warrican in the 18th over against the run of play.

After Rahul's wicket, the recovery was made by Jaiswal and Sudharsan as the duo added 36 runs for the second wicket. Sudharsan will need to capitalise on this promising start, having had a disappointing start to his Test career so far.


Jasprit Bumrah scripts history

Jasprit Bumrah has created history with his 50th Test appearance for India. Amid the heavy speculations regarding India's possible combination for the 2nd Test, Bumrah made it to the lineup.

Bumrah has become the first Indian fast bowler to complete 50 matches in all three formats. He has been one of India's biggest match winners over the past few years. He has taken 222 wickets in Test cricket so far at an average of 19.82.

The senior pacer has also represented the national team in 89 ODIs and 75 T20I matches and has 149 and 96 wickets to his name, respectively.

While West Indies brought in wicketkeeper Tevin Imlach and fast bowler Anderson Phillip to replace Brandon King and Johann Layne for the second Test, India fielded an unchanged lineup.
