IND vs AUS Women's World Cup 2025: The host might have gotten hurt after losing their last World Cup match to South Africa. They did come close to winning that match, but ended up losing a game, which might have helped them inch closer toward the semis.
They will now lock horns with one of the best teams, Australia. They did defeat them recently, but that doesn't hide the fact that they have a poor record against them. And they will still try to win this match. But for that, the team management will have to make some changes in the playing XI. And without Renuka Thakur, the hosts are struggling.
No Changes Needed in Batting
Openers Pratika Rawal and Smriti Mandhana haven't really performe well with the bat; Harleen Deol and Jemimah aren't at their absolute best, and that's why the batting attack needs improvement. In the high-octane match against Australia, all the batters will need to fire in otherwise challenging pitches that they have played till now.
Richa Ghosh Needs Promotion, Harmanpreet Lower Down the Order
Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur has registered scores like 12, 19, and 9 runs, and these are not captain's knocks. And this is why Richa, who scored a brilliant knock of 90 runs against South Africa, should be promoted, as she has the skills to score runs in the middle overs. At the same time, Harmanpreet can bat at no. 5 or no.6.
Drop Shree Charani
In her place, the team management should pick three fast bowlers- Kranti Gaud, Renuka Thakur, and Amanjot Kaur. They shouldn't drop their most experienced fast bowler against a team like Australia. They might become one spinner short, but Harman can bowl with her off-spinners. This will make the team look more balanced.
India Predicted XI vs Australia
Pratika Rawal, Smriti Mandhana, Harleen Deol, Harmanpreet Kaur(c), Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, Amanjot Kaur, Richa Ghosh(w), Sneh Rana, Kranti Gaud, Renuka Singh Thakur.
