U19 Women's T20 World Cup Final 2025: Legendary Indian cricketers like Gautam Gambhir, Irfan Pathan, Mithali Raj, Pragyan Ojha, and other cricketers sent their wishes after the Women in Blue won their second consecutive U19 Women’s T20 World Cup in Malaysia. India hammered South Africa by nine wickets during the summit clash and was able to defend their title, which the Shafali Varma-led side won in 2023.

Gambhir, who is the head coach of the senior men's Indian team, heaped praises on the team after making the country proud. He took to his official X account and said, “Enthralling performance by our young guns! You’ve made the nation proud girls!”. In his guidance, the Men in Blue did lose the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Down Under but clinched the ongoing T20I series against England.

Ex-Indian women's cricketer Mithali Raj, who is the highest run-getter in Women's ODI, lauded the Indian team for beating all the other teams during the World Cup in Malaysia.

She had written, “Unstoppable. Unmatched. Unbeaten. India didn’t just win the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup, they dominated it! A flawless campaign capped with a one-sided final win over South Africa. Congratulations to every one of the squad and support staff for this phenomenal achievement. We are extremely proud of you! A golden generation has arrived!”

Rishabh Pant, who recently returned to the Ranji Trophy, took to his official X account and wrote, “Congratulations to the Women’s U19 team on winning the T20 World Cup. An incredible achievement.”

Irfan Pathan, who is one of the Indian bowlers to have taken a hat-trick in the longest format too heaped praises on the Nikki Prasad-led for winning the mega-event in Malaysia. He said, “India wins... congratulations to the women’s India u-19 team for winning the World Cup.”

Trisha stars in India’s World Cup triumph

It was a one-sided summit clash between India U19 Women's team and South Africa U19 Women's team as Gongadi Trisha had put up an all-round performance. While bowling first the Nikki Prasad-led side skittled South Africa out for 82 runs during the 20 overs. Trisha took three wickets and conceded just 15 runs whereas Parunika Sisodia, Ayushi Shukla, and Vaishnavi Sharma took two wickets each.

Trisha scored an unbeaten match-winning knock of 44 runs, in which she smashed eight fours. G Kamalini was seen struggling but vice-captain Sanika Chalke scored a gritty knock of 26 runs and took the team across the line with 52 balls remaining. Trisha was adjudged the player of the tournament award as she had scored 309 runs and had taken seven wickets.
