IND vs AFG: The BCCI has announced India's squad for the one-off Test against Afghanistan, which will be held next month. This one-off Test match isn't the part of the ICC WTC cycle and will be held in Mullanpur from June 6.
Its the second time that India will be playing against Afghanistan in the longest format as they had earlier met way back in 2018.
The Men in Blue had won that Test match by an innings within two days. Afghanistan, who had played in their first Test match, wereskittled out for 101 runs during the first innings and then had scored 103 runs during the second post being asked to follow on as the host had posted a mammoth target of 474 runs at the M Chiinaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

One of the highlights of that historic game happened post the win, where India skipper Ajinkya Rahane had urged Afghanistan captain Asghar Stanikzai and their whole team to get a picture clicked with the trophy.
Six-Month Red-Ball Break
It will be team India's first Test match after they had faced South Africa in November 2025, where they suffered a 2-0 home series defeat. Those Test matches were held in Kolkata and Guwahati, where the Proteas had dominated in both the matches.
After that the Men in Blue has been continuously playing white-ball cricket, especially in the shortest format as they were successfully able to defend their T20 World Cup title.
Apart from the one-off Test against Afghanistan, the Indian team will also play four more Test matches this year against teams like Sri Lanka and New Zealand and both these series are the part of the WTC cycle.
