India will travel to Sri Lanka in July next year to play six limited-overs games as Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) announced the international cricket calendar on Wednesday.

Despite the International Cricket Council's (ICC) ban on Sri Lanka's membership, the island nation is allowed to feature in bilateral and ICC tournaments. However, ICC moved the U-19 World Cup from Sri Lanka to South Africa earlier this month.

India's tour will include three ODIs and as many T20Is in the July-August window. As per the 2024 cricket schedule released by SLC, the men's national team is due to play 52 international games in 2024, which includes 10 Tests, 21 ODIs and 21 T20Is other than the 2024 T20 World Cup.

All the five matches will be part of the ICC World Test Championship.

Sri Lanka are also scheduled to host West Indies and New Zealand for ODIs and T20Is in October and November respectively.

Sri Lanka will end their year with tours of South Africa and New Zealand respectively, starting in November. South Africa will host Sri Lanka for two Tests while New Zealand will play three ODIs and three T20Is against Sri Lanka in December and January.

"We are heading into a highly exciting year with a lot of international cricket to be played, which augurs well for us, as our team will be engaged in competitive cricket year around," said Ashley De Silva, CEO of Sri Lanka Cricket.

"The 2024 calendar is expected to give our players a lot of playing opportunities, fans entertainment, and our sponsors great exposure," added De Silva.
