New Delhi | Jagran Sports Desk: Manish Pandey on Friday took a sharp catch at covers to dismiss Australia opener David Warner. The youngster jumped to perfection and dismissed Warner who could have proved dangerous. In the previous match, Warner had scored unbeaten 128 runs off 110 balls that featured 17 fours and three sixes. However, Pandey failed to work wonders with the bat in a day where other established players like Shikhar Dhawan (96), skipper Virat Kohli (78), and KL Rahul (80) shined.

In the match, the performance by the above batsmen helped India post 340/6 in 50 overs. For Australia, Adam Zampa scalped three wickets for 50 runs in his quota of 10 overs to help India restrict below a score that looked likely to reach beyond 380. The Men in Blues need to win this contest to survive in the ODI series. They had lost the previous one-sided match by 10 wickets.

In reply, Australia were all out for 304 despite Steve Smith scoring 98. Last match heroes openers David Warner and Aaron Finch failed to perform. Labuschagne, playing his debut ODI innings, stuck on with Smith and the pair gave Australia the upper hand in the middle overs. They put up 96 for the third wicket before Labuschagne holed out at mid-off off Jadeja on 46.

Smith however looked settled and was cruising to his ninth ODI ton when a loose shot cost him his wicket.

Kuldeep Yadav, who was wicketless in the first eight overs, bowled the 38th over, scalped two quick wickets to scalp 100th ODI wicket-- fastest India spinner to do so.  The decisive third ODI will be played on Sunday at the Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru.
