Despite no clarity over his participation in India's first Test match against Australia, captain Rohit Sharma, who hasn't travelled with the team to Perth, is leaving no stone unturned in his preparation for the Border Gavaskar Trophy.

The Indian captain is leaving no stone unturned in his preparation for the Australian Test series. According to a report by Times of India, the 37-year-old has been diligently training, splitting his sessions between the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) facilities and Reliance Corporate Park (RCP).

"There is no clarity yet on his departure. It all depends on how things unfold on the personal front. He is doing what any father would at this stage, which is to stay with his wife and family. But at the same time, he is ensuring to be well-tuned for the Test series and will be batting at every possible opportunity in Mumbai," says a source aware of developments as quoted by TOI.

Virat Kohli was the first to reach Perth on Sunday, getting a head start on preparations. Meanwhile, vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah opted for a slightly delayed departure, travelling to Perth on Monday night, separate from the second batch of players.

India's players embarked on their journey to Perth in two phases. On November 10, Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep, and Washington Sundar led the first contingent, accompanied by assistant coach Abhishek Nayar.

The next day, November 11, saw the departure of the remaining team members, with head coach Gautam Gambhir in tow.

Meanwhile, India's tour of Australia kicks off with the first Test in Perth on November 22, paving the way for an exciting series that concludes with the Sydney Test on January 3. One of the highlights of the series will be the Day-Night Test in Adelaide, which will be the second Test. As part of their preparations, India will play a two-day practice match in Canberra before heading to Adelaide.
