India returned to old grooves at the iconic Gabba ground, which the team cherished the most. It was here where India achieved one of their finest Test victories in recent times- clinching the Border-Gavaskar trophy in 2021.

Facing a resurging Australia in the 3rd Test, India will perhaps convert this victory into an advantage to repeat it against the two giants of the game.

Heavy rain is expected to offset play within the first days of the match, which might change things dramatically for the contest.

The weather forecast for the opening days of the third Test at the Gabba paints a gloomy picture. According to AccuWeather, the first day of the match is expected to be marred by thunderstorms, with a high probability of 88 per cent.

The conditions are predicted to remain humid and overcast, making for a challenging start to the Test. The rain threat persists on Sunday and Monday, with probabilities of 58 per cent and 60 per cent respectively.

The gloomy apparition of rain still haunts the third Test at the Gabba, with Tuesday, the fourth day of the match, bears a 55 per cent chance of precipitation, which means there would hardly be any reprieve from all the interruptions.

However, glimmering hope is present for a full day's play on the fifth day, with just a negligible 1 per cent chance of rain, paving the way for continuous cricket if the match turns out to go the distance.
