New Delhi | Jagran Sports Desk: Team India on Sunday defeated Bangladesh by an innings and 46 runs to win the Day-Night Test match held at Eden Gardens, Kolkata and whitewash the two-match Test series 2-0. After Bangladesh resumed the day at 152/6, Ebadat Hossain was the first batsman to lose his wicket. Their standout wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim was the second one to lose his wicket after scoring 74 runs, leaving Bangladesh helpless with tail-enders Al-Amin (16) and Abu Jayed (1) on strike at 189/8 in 40 overs.
A little later, Al-Amin was also dismissed at the score of 16 while Mahmudullah, who was retired hurt didn't came out to bat as Bangladesh were reduced to 195. Among Indian bowlers, Ishant Sharma scalped four wickets while Umesh Yadav picked a fifer.

Earlier on Saturday, Bangladesh lost their six wickets for 152 runs as Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav scalped four and two wickets respectively. India had declared their innings at 347/9 after gaining a lead of 241 runs in their first innings. Virat Kohli (136) slammed his 70th international century and equalised with Ricky Ponting with 41 centuries as captain. Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteswar Pujara had also scored half-centuries respectively. Al-Amin Hossain and Ebadat Hossain took three wickets each during India's first innings.
To recall, Bangladesh were bowled out for 106 runs in their first innings after winning the toss and choosing to bat first.
This is the first instance of a team winning four consecutive Test match by an innings margin. Bangladesh had lost the first Test by an innings and 130 runs at Indore. Earlier, India had defeated South Africa by an innings (twice) in the two-match Test series held earlier this year.
