"As I said before, I don't look at numbers. As a youngster I did that and it made me excited. But now it's an added baggage. As a youngster that is the first delivery I learned (yorker). Had seen the legends of the game. Waqar, Wasim and even Zaheer Khan. We're going through a transition so I feel it's my responsibility to help them in any way I can. We discuss certain things. Have been playing with him for a long period of time (Rohit). No not really (competition with Jimmy?). Before a cricketer, I'm a fast bowling fan. If somebody's doing well, kudos to them. I look at the situation, at the wicket and think what are my options. I should not be a one-trick pony," Bumrah said after collecting his POTM award.

" He is a champion player for us (Bumrah). When you win a game like that, you have to look at the overall performance as well. We were good with the bat. You know winning a Test in these conditions is not easy. Wanted our bowlers to step up and they did that. He looks like a good player, understands his game really well. Long way to go for him, has got a lot to offer for our team. Hope he stays humble. Wickets was really good to bat on. If I have to point anything, lot of the batters got starts but couldn't get big score. But I understand they're young and new to the game. Important for us to give them confidence. Very proud of such a young squad to come up against a team like that. Lot of the guys are quite young in terms of playing this form of the game. It'll take some time to be absolutely spot on. Want them to play freely without any pressure. Last couple of years England have been playing good cricket. Knew it wasn't going to be an easy series. Three more to go. We'll keep our check on it and make sure we do most things right," Rohit said in the post-match presentation.  

"Coming into this last innings, had full belief in ourselves that we'll chase it down. In moments like that, in games with scoreboard pressure, that's where we get the best out of ourselves. Another great game to be a part of. There's no suggestion whatsoever about how to play. Everyone in the dressing room is a quality player. They are good enough to go out there and assess the conditions, and decide how to go about it. I absolutely loved it (captaining the spinners). To put in the performance they did yesterday was incredible. They showed a lot of maturity beyond the years. He's amazing (Anderson). Two guys who're incredible bowlers (Anderson and Bumrah)," he said in the post-match presentation.

"Wonderful feeling, really enjoyed the game. One of the best moments to win a game for your country. We were just focusing on our process, focused on our fielding and I think it went well. (On pitch) There was a bit of crack and there was some seam movement, so it was a bit hard to play in the fourth innings. (Difference in white ball and red ball) It is very different, in these games I try to play till the end and in white game I go for it from the first ball and have an intent to score. (On Bumrah) The way Bumrah bowled was incredible, it was coming too fast at the slip cordon too. (On second innings batting) My intent was the same, I wanted to play out the new ball and build my innings," he said after the match.

Bumrah and Ashwin picked three wickets each to bundle out England for 292 while chasing 399 to extend their lead to 2-0. India won the match in four and a half day to make come back in the five-match series.

Shubman Gill won't be taking the field today for India as he hurt his right index finger yesterday.

Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed Ben Duckett late in the day 3, taking his wicket tally to 497 in Test cricket as he remains three scalps away from becoming only 2nd Indian bowler to reach the feat of 500 Tst wickets.

England pacer James Anderson revealed at the end of Day 3 that the head coach Brendon McCullum was keen to go for chasing down even if India had set them a target of 600.

"Absolutely. We feel well in the game. We got sat down by the coach last night and he said if India get 600 ahead, we're going to try and chase it down, that is exactly what we're going to do. I thought we stuck to our task really well today.

"They put on a partnership at one point, but I thought the way the spinners kept going and kept toiling was brilliant. We're in a great position and we're going to give it a good crack tomorrow," said Anderson at the end of day three's play.

India posted a massive total of 396 runs in their first innings on the back of a remarkable double century from Yashasvi Jaiswal.

They bowled England out for 253 runs with Jasprit Bumrah taking 6 wickets for 45 runs as the hosts took a huge lead of 143 runs.

Shubman Gill's fighting century helped India score 255 runs and set England a target of 399 runs before getting bowled out on the third day.

India managed to dismiss Ben Duckett who fell prey to Ravichandran Ashwin for 28 late in the day 3.

It is still unclear whether Joe Root will be coming out to bat for England in the 2nd innings as he suffered a finger injury early on the third day. He didn't take the field for the rest of the day. His teammate James Anderson provided an update on him.

"His finger is not great," said Anderson. "He took a blow in training this morning and again on the field. It's just making sure that is as good as it can be for when he bats. Hopefully tomorrow he'll turn up at the ground and be OK to hold a bat.,
