The second encounter between India and Pakistan in the Super Four round of the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 will have a reserve day on the next day of the scheduled match - Monday, September 11 in case of rain interruption, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) announced on Friday.
India and Pakistan are scheduled to lock horns at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo on Sunday, September 10. The first match between the two countries was suspended due to rain in Pallekele.
"A reserve day has been incorporated for the Super11 Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 match between India vs Pakistan scheduled to take place on 10th September 2023 at R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo. If adverse weather suspends play during the India vs Pakistan game, the match will continue on 11th September 2023 from the point it was suspended. In such an eventuality, ticket-holders are advised to hold on to their match tickets which will remain valid and will be utilised for the reserve day," News agency ANI quoted the Asian Cricket Council as saying.

It will be the only match in the Super Four stage to have a reserve apart from the summit clash, for which the reserve day was marked during the schedule announcement.
As per Colombo's weather prediction for Sunday, there is a 90 per cent chance of rain playing the spoilsport during the course of the high-voltage match.
Pakistan Cricket Board, the tournament's official hosts, was demanding to transfer the Super Four matches scheduled in Colombo to Hambantota due to inclement weather conditions in Sri Lanka's capital. However, the ACC eventually informed the parties involved by email that the matches will go as planned in Colombo.

Pacer Jasprit Bumrah will return for India after missing the match against Nepal due to family commitments. He rejoined the India squad on Friday after welcoming his first child with his wife Sanjana Ganesan earlier this week.
Meanwhile, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by seven wickets in the first Super Four match of the tournament in Lahore on Wednesday. Before the high-stake India vs Pakistan clash, defending champions Sri Lanka will host Bangladesh in Colombo on Saturday.
