Hong Kong Sixes Highlights, India vs Pakistan: India Clinch 2-run Victory By DLS Method Against Pakistan

India have registered their first win in the Hong Kong Sixes 2025 as they defeated Pakistan by 2 runs by the DLS method. Pakistan scored 41/1 in their three overs while chasing the 87-run target.

This is not good news as rain stops play in the India vs Pakistan match. Pakistan looked in great touch despite losing a wicket as they have scored 41/1 in the first three overs. Khawaja Nafay (18) and Abdul Samad (16) are at the crease for the Men in Green. They need 46 runs in the last three overs.

Magnificent effort from Abdul Samad in this crucial over as he smashed a six and a couple of boundaries against Shahbaz Nadeem. 16 runs came off the over.

India managed to get 12 runs in the final over against Sadaqat, but they will feel that they are a few runs short. Uthappa was looking dangerous at the top, but he fell against the run of play. Pakistan produced an impressive effort with the ball. Notably, they chased down the 124-run target against Kuwait.

Robin Uthappa and Bharath Chipli opened the innings for India after the Men in Blue lost the toss. 13 runs came off the first over, bowled by Shahid Aziz, as Uthappa smashed a six and a boundary to give his team a promising start.

India have won the tournament once and that was way back in 2005. Pakistan, on the other hand, finished as the runners-up last year as they lost to Sri Lanka in the finals. Pakistan are one of the strongest teams in the history of the competition and have lifted the trophy five times.

Pakistan defeated Kuwait by 4 wickets in their first match of the tournament. They chased down the 124-run target on the back of skipper Abbas Afridi's 55-run knock in just 12 balls. He smashed one four and eight sixes. 

Pakistan have won the toss and opted to bowl first against India in the Hong Kong Sixes 2025 match.

When India last faced Pakistan in the 2024 Hong Kong International Sixes, they scored 119/2 in their six overs on the back of a fiery 53-run knock from Bharat Chipli and a 31-run contribution from Robin Uthappa. After a strong start, Pakistan chased the total with an over to spare, handing India a disappointing defeat.
