IND-w vs SL-W: After Winning World Cup, India Women To Face Sri Lanka For Five-Match T20I Series

IND-w vs SL-W: The Women in Blue will be returning to action for a five-match T20I series against Sri Lanka after winning the 2025 Women's World Cup. They were supposed to play a three-match ODI and T20I series against Bangladesh next month. But this series has been postponed owing to political tensions between India and Bangladesh.

Due to this, the BCCI has revealed a T20I series against Sri Lanka in this window. This five-match series, which will begin next month in Vizag and then move to Thiruvananthapuram, will consist of the last two matches.

This series will also help the teams to begin their preparations for the 2026 T20 World Cup, which will be held in June. After recently winning the ODI World Cup, the host will now try to win the T20I title as well.

They made a group stage exit from the 2024 T20 World Cup as they had lost to teams like New Zealand and Australia. After that, they have beaten teams like West Indies (2–1) and England (3–2).

The Women in Blue will then face teams like Australia (February 2026) and England (May 2026) to strengthen their preparation for the mega event. There will be high expectations from them as they, too, have finally ended their ICC title by winning the home World Cup.
