India women vs Sri Lanka women 5th T20I Updates: Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bowl first in the fifth and final T20I match against India at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday, December 30. India have already sealed the five-match series and are 4-0 up on the back of a dominating performance in all departments.

G Kamalini is making her T20I debut for India as the hosts decided to introduce another fresh face. Kamalini impressed in the limited opportunities she received during the WPL and will be looking to capitalise in her maiden outing with no pressure on her, displaying her readiness for the international stage.

In an interesting turn of events, India have decided to rest star batter Smriti Mandhana and pacer Renuka Singh Thakur. Sneh Rana has made her comeback. India headed into the match on the back of a remarkable performance in the previous match, winning it by 30 runs. The Women in Blue will be aiming to come up with another impressive performance and complete a 5-0 whitewash.

"Yeah, I mean, we were okay batting also, so yeah, it's an important match, so let's play well and win. Yeah, definitely. As I mentioned, it's an important match for us. How we started this series, that's how we wanted to finish. Hopefully, again, we'll continue the same momentum and give our best. Yes, we have two changes today; Smriti and Renuka are resting. Kamalini is going to debut, and Sneh Rana is back," Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur said at the toss.

On the other hand, Sri Lanka have also made a couple of changes with an aim to get a consolation win. Inoka Ranaweera and Malki Madara have replaced Malsha Shehani and Kawya Kavindi.

"We decide bowl first. Because we played a little bit of good cricket in the last game, so that's why we decided to bowl first. Actually, we learn a lot of things in this tournament, especially when we are playing against India, the World Champions, so we learn a lot of things in every game. So I think these opportunities are really good for the youngsters and we learn from those mistakes and we learn from good things in here, so we will go home with positive things next year," Sri Lanka skipper Chamari Athapaththu said at the toss.
