IND vs SL: The BCCI has revealed a revised schedule for India's white ball series against Sri Lanka on July 13, Saturday. The matches have been postponed by one day and the series will now begin from July 27, instead of July 26. The Men in Blue would be playing a three-match T20I series and as many ODIs in Sri Lanka and there are high chances that both the teams would be led by different skippers. As pert some rumours, Hardik Pandya would be taking over the reigns from Rohit Sharma in the shortest format after the latter announced retirement from T20Is post winning the T20 World Cup.

As per the original schedule, this white ball series was supposed to begin from July 26 instead of July 27.

KL Rahul to lead ODI side

"It is expected that in the absence of Rohit, Hardik and KL are the options to be given the responsibility of captain. Both have captained the team earlier," a BCCI source was quoted as saying to India Today.

"If Hardik is not available for the T20Is, you might see Suryakumar Yadav as captain in T20Is and Rahul in ODIs. But for now, it seems that Hardik and KL will lead the team," the source further said.

This is the first time that the Indian team would be playing under the guidance of new head coach Gautam Gambhir. Gambhir took over the charge from Rahul Dravid, whose term ended after winning the 2024 T20 World Cup.
