IND-W vs NZ-W Women's World Cup 2025: India have beaten New Zealand by 53 runs to qualify for the semifinals of the ongoing mega event. Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal had scored brilliant centuries and helped the hosts defeat New Zealand by 53 runs with the help of the DLS method.
While batting first, the host had posted an amammoth target of 340/3 after the match was reduced to 49 overs per team owing to rain interruption, and just when the first innings was about to end.
Post another rain stoppage, the target was reduced to 325 in 44 overs as per the DLS, and New Zealand were restricted to 271/8.
Brooke Halliday was their highest run-scorer as she scored a gritty knock of 81 runs off 84 balls, whereas Isabelle Gaze scored a gritty knock of 65 runs off 51 balls.
In the first innings, Jemimah Rodrigues had scored a knock of 76 runs off 55 balls after Mandhana and Pratika had built a partnership of 212 runs and had set the tone for the win, as they were on a three-match losing streak.
Mandhana had scored 109 runs off 95 balls, whereas Pratika had smashed 122 runs off 134 balls. It was their highest total in this tournament.
With this win against New Zealand, the hosts have scored points and have joined teams like Australia, England, and South Africa in the semis.
