IPL 2024 Auction: Australian batter Travis Head was one of the big names who entered the IPL 2024 Auction, especially after his remarkable show at the ODI World Cup 2023 in India.
There was so much excitement over Head's presence in the auction alongside other Aussie stars since the day he played a match-winning knock against India in the World Cup final.
Head managed to make big money as he was bought for a massive price of Rs 6.80 Crore by Sunrisers Hyderabad at the auction in Dubai on Tuesday, December 19.

The star batter was left excited and over the moon after joining the 2016 champions ahead of the upcoming season.
SRH emerged victorious in a bidding war against Chennai Super Kings for Head who scored a century in the final to help his team clinch their sixth World Cup title a month ago.
“Hi, Sunrisers fans, over the moon about joining this year. So many good players in the team, exciting. So many brilliant stories about the Orange Army, how loud they are, how vocal they are. Looking forward to joining,” said Head.
Head had been a part of IPL in the the past but didn't have so much to impress when it comes to his numbers in the most popular T20 league.
He played for Royal Challengers Bangalore in two seasons, appearing in ten games. His IPL statistics include an aggregate of 205 runs with the highest score of 75 not out, an average of 29.29, and a single half-century to his name. However, he went unsold at the IPL 2023 auction.
It was a memorable day for the Australians, especially for a few who contributed heavily to the Australian team's successful World Cup campaign.
Australia skipper Pat Cummins joined SunRisers Hyderabad for Rs 20.50 crore after which left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc became the most expensive player in the history of the IPL when Kolkata Knights Riders bagged his services for a whopping price of Rs 24.75 crore.
