KKR Team 2024 Players List: Kolkata Knight Riders are all set to improve things under the leadership of Indian star batter Shreyas Iyer in the upcoming IPL 2024 after creating history in the mini-auction.

KKR bought Australian pacer Mitchell Starc to make him the most expensive player in the history of the IPL with a whopping price of Rs 24.75 crore on Tuesday, December 19.

This was the first time that the IPL auctions took place outside the country as it well and truly set up the momentum for the upcoming IPL 2024 season.

The two-time champions followed Starc's purchase by bagging the services of Chetan Sakariya and Gus Atkinson whereas Manish Pandey is all set to make his return at the Eden Gardens with KS Bharat also joining them.

Afghanistan's star spinner Mujeeb ur Rahman will also be playing for KKR from next season.

Kolkata Knight Riders are the two-time IPL champions but they last won the title win in 2014 and have been struggling from the last two seasons where they finished.

The disappointing results forced the franchise to make changes in the coaching staff as they brought in Gautam Gambhir, who led them to titles in 2012 and 2014 as captain, as their team mentor.

Notably, India's star batter Shreyas Iyer, who missed the last season due to an injury, was reappointed as the captain of the side.

The team also decided to let go of senior names like Tim Southee, Umesh Yadav, Shakib Al Hasan, and Shardul Thakur as they entered the IPL mini-auction with a big purse and the most vacant slots at 12.
