The Indian Premier League announced the rescheduling of two matches on Tuesday, slated to be played in the third week of April. As per the new announcement, the match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Eden Gardens will now be played on April 16, a day prior to the original date.
Similarly, the Gujarat Titans' (GT) match against Delhi Capitals at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will now be played on April 17, a day later than its original schedule.

However, the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) did not disclose the reason behind the swapping of matches but it can be largely related to Ram Navmi festivities and the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
There is no further change in the rest of the tournament schedule.
The ongoing 17th edition of the IPL started on March 22 and will conclude on May 26 with the final in Chennai for the first time in 12 years.

Earlier, BCCI released the IPL 2024 schedule in two phases to manage the logistics and security due to the clash with the General Elections.
The second phase of the tournament will commence on April 8 with the clash between defending champions Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders in Chennai.
Currently, RR and KKR are undefeated in the tournament and occupy the first and second spots in the points table respectively.
Rajasthan secured wins over Lucknow Super Giants, Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians in the tournament so far.
On the other hand, KKR outclassed Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore in their first two matches of the season.
