IPL 2025 Mega Auction: Amid heavy speculations regarding the IPL 2025, Lucknow Super Giants are set to name the likes of Nicholas Pooran, Mayank Yadav, and Ravi Bishnoi as their retentions ahead of mega auction.

The uncapped pair of Mohsin Khan and Ayush Badoni are the other players likely to be retained for the upcoming season.

In an interesting turn of events, LSG might let go of their skipper KL Rahul as a last-minute huge decision on the back of mutual communication from both parties, LSG will have one right-to-match (RTM) card at the auction.

As per a report in ESPNCricinfo, the star wicket-keeper batter Pooran will be the top retention followed by Mayank and Bishnoi.

The amount of the five potentially retained players is not yet known, but based on the retention slabs put in place by IPL, INR 51 crore will be deducted from LSG's purse.

In case the sum paid to the five exceeds 51 crore, then the higher amount will be deducted from the purse each franchise has been given for the mega auction.

Notably, Pooran was just neind Rahul on the run-charts last season and even captained a fe wmatches when the latter sat out f to a iggle,.

Pooran was bought by LSG ahead of the 2023 season for INR 16 crore. His price tag has onlu climbed up since his maiden IPL season in 2017 when Mumbai Indians bought him for INR 30 lakhs.

Two years later, Punjab Kings bought him for INR 4.2 crore.

In the 2022 mega auction, Sunrisers Hyderabad paid INR 10.75 crore before releasing him a season later.

Talking about the other likely retentions, Mayank Yadav impressed last season and picked up two Player-of-the-Match awards in his first two IPL matches.

He attracted the milelight, clocking 150-plus kph deliveries.

On the other hand, leg-spinner Bishnoi was one of the three players LSG picked ahead of the mega auction before the 2022 season for INR 4 crore, as he was then an uncapped player.

He has taken 39 wickets for LSG in three seasons.

Badoni and Mohsin, both uncapped and bought for INR 20 lakhs each in the 2022 auction, have been integral to LSG's success so far.

LSG made their IPL debut in 2022 and made it to the playoffs before finishing seventh in 2024 season.
