IPL 2025 Mega Auction: Gujarat Titans bought Jos Buttler for a whopping amount of Rs 15.75 crore at the IPL 2025 mega auction in Jeddah on Sunday. Rajasthan Royals began the bidding war for Buttler but Lucknow Super Giants then stepped in. And then Gujarat Titans too jumped in and pipped their opponents to acquire his services.
Royals released him before the IPL 2025 mega auction. He had played for this franchise since 2018. He had also played for Mumbai Indians for two IPL seasons.
He had played in 107 IPL matches and had scored 3582 runs at an average of 38.10. He had smashed seven centuries and is behind Virat Kohli, who had smashed eight centuries and also 19 half-centuries.

In IPL 2022, he scored 862 runs after playing in 17 IPL matches and became the first player to have won the Orange cap twice.
The 34-year-old batter recently suffered from a calf injury but showed his brilliant batting performance by scoring 83 runs in the 2nd T20I against West Indies.
Ever since he had played for this franchise in 2018, he had batted as an opener.
As a T20 World Cup-winning skipper, he also boasts of leadership qualities.
At the same time, Australia's star fast bowler Mitchell Starc was bought by DC for Rs 11.75 crore at the auction on Sunday.
He was the Player of the Match for Qualifier 1 and also in the summit clash of IPL 2024. He usually performs brilliantly during powerplay and also during the death overs.
In the IPL 2024 mini-auction, reigning champions KKR spent a whopping amount of Rs 24.75 crore and he thus became the most expensive player in the history of the tournament.
They had spent 80% of their entire purse on him. But Shreyas surpassed Starc as PBKS bought him for a whopping amount of Rs 26.75 crore.
