IPL 2025 Mega Auction: Kolkata Knight Riders have roped in Rahmanullah Gurbaz for his base price of Rs 2 crore in Jeddah on Sunday. Afghanistan's star batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz had kept his base price of Rs 2 crore at the auction.

He played for the Kolkata-based franchise in IPL 2024 as well.

He made his IPL debut in 2022 where he played for former champions Gujarat Titans and thus replaced Jason Roy.

But he didn't feature in any game for them in IPL 2022. But for the 2023 season, he was traded to Kolkata Knight Riders.

He has played in just 11 IPL matches till now, where he has scored 227 runs and that also includes two fifties. In IPL 2024, he was also once again dropped from KKR's playing XI as Phil Salt and Sunil Narine became its permanent openers.

He only opened the innings when Salt left the franchise to play for England during the playoffs. Gurbaz had played in three matches this year and had scored 62 runs. And post IPL he performed brilliantly in the 2024 T20 World Cup.

He had scored 281 runs in the mega event, which also included three half-centuries, and was one of the highest run-getters.

At the same time, Royal Challengers Bengaluru roped in Josh Hazlewood for Rs 12.50 crore on Sunday.

Hazlewood had entered his name at the mega auction at a base price of Rs 2 crore. Although he is still considered one of the best fast bowlers in the world he went unsold at the IPL 2024 mini-auction.

He made his IPL debut in 2020 although he has been playing international cricket since 2010. He made his IPL debut with CSK.

In that year, he had played in just three matches and had taken just one wicket. In 2021, he took 11 wickets after playing in nine matches. And in 2022, he was bought by RCB.

In that season, he took 20 wickets after playing in 12 IPL matches and then took three wickets in as many matches in 2023.
