Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025 Mega Auction: The five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians would be entering the IPL 2025 mega auction with a strong basis after they had retained their core group of players. The players that they retained for the next season are- skipper Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, and Jasprit Bumrah and these players would automatically be included in the playing XI of all the matches. The franchise has a remaining purse of Rs 45 crore and they have to fill up 20 more slots and that also includes buying eight overseas players at the auction.
The IPL 2025 mega auction is all set to be held on November 24 and 25 in Saudi Arabia. Although it's almost hard to predict what would happen on these two days till then one can speculate the franchise's best possible playing XI.
Their batting order looks formidable as all the big stars of the shortest format are included in it. But they do need a wicket-keeper batter for the next season, who can also open the innings. They also have one right-to-match card available for the auction.

1. Jake Fraser-McGurk (aggressive opening option)
This young Australian batter had a dream run in IPL 2024 as he batted at a strike rate of 234.04. His aggressive style of play matches with the franchise's search for a brilliant opener, who could bat along with Rohit Sharma.
2. Trent Boult (Left-arm pacer with proven MI record)
Boult's partnership with Jasprit Bumrah played a huge role in helping MI lift their fifth IPL title in 2020. His vast experience and left-arm angle can strengthen their bowling attack and that can give them an upper edge in crucial matches.
3. Marcus Stoinis (powerful all-rounder)
This Australian all-rounder provides versatility as a hard hitter and a medium-pace bowler. Since this franchise gives importance to all their all-rounder, his abilities can enhance their lower-order batting lineup and strengthen their bowling lineup as well.
4. Washington Sundar (reliable spinner and lower-order batsman)
Sundar's skills as an off-spin bowler and as a lower-order batter would make him a valuable addition to this team. He can strengthen the team's sin department, an area where they have been struggling for the last few years.
5. Yuzvendra Chahal (key leg-spin option)
Mumbai Indians are looking for a reliable spinner and Chahal, who is often known, for his wicket-taking skills at regular intervals during the middle overs, would fit in this position. He can solve the franchise's spin concerns and can also strengthen their bowling lineup.
6. Thomas Draca (Italian pace sensation)
An upcoming fast bowler from Italy, Draca grabbed everyone's attention during the Global T20 Canada. His skills and resilience would make him a unique addition to their squad, as there is a high chance that he could succeed on Indian pitches in the next season.
