IPL 2025: Bangladesh's star fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman has received a No Objection Certificate [NOC] by the Bangladesh Cricket Board and will be playing for Delhi Capitals during IPL 2025, which will restart from May 17, where Royal Challengers Bengaluru will lock horns with Kolkata Knight Riders. But he has been given clearance to play in just three group stage matches, according to ESPNCricinfo. He won't be there in the playoffs if the Delhi-based franchise qualifies.
Mustafizur Rahman has received a NOC for just six days. He would be available to play the IPL 2025 matches between May 18 to May 24.
The BCB has also revealed that the fast bowler would be playing the first T20I against UAE, which would be held on Saturday, and would then fly back to India. But there is no clarity as to whether he would play DC's match against GT, which would be held at their backyard on Sunday.
Initially, Mustafizur was supposed to replace Jake Fraser-McGurk, who has pulled out of the ongoing season owing to personal reasons.
But when the deal was finalized, the BCB reckoned that it was quite confused since the fast bowler never approached them for an NOC.
The Axar Patel-led side will also miss the services of Faf Du Plessis, even though Tristan Stubbs would be rejoining them for the rest of the season.
Star pacer Mitchell Starc has pulled out of IPL 2025, and he informed the Delhi-based franchise earlier today.
Starc has set his eyes on the WTC final against South Africa, which will be held next month. Delhi Capitals would be missing his services a lot since he was their highest wicket-taker in the ongoing season and has taken 14 wickets after playing in 11 matches.
Mustafizur Rahman to get INR 6 crore
Mustafizur Rahman has played 57 IPL matches till now and has taken 61 wickets in his kitty.
He has represented Bangladesh in 106 T20Is and has taken 132 wickets.
Delhi Capitals bought him for a whopping amount of Rs 6 crore.
The Axar Patel-led side is currently lying in the fifth position in the points table as they have scored 13 points after playing in 11 matches. Their remaining group stage matches are against teams like Gujarat Titans, Mumbai Indians, and Punjab Kings.
The clash between DC and PBKS had been rescheduled, and it would be held in Jaipur. The match was stopped halfway in Dharamshala owing to security reasons.
