All the franchises have started to gather near their respective tables. All the eyes will be on CSK and KKR tables initially.

Another Cricketer-turned-Commentator Sanjay Bangar on the most expensive uncapped Indian player: "I think it will depend on the skill set — whether it’s a left-arm seamer or a leg-spinner. In the left-arm seamers, Naman Tiwari stood out in the last U19 edition; he swings the ball well and keeps it close to the stumps. In the spinner category, Shubham Agarwal is a very good leg-spinner and an experienced option. Keep an eye on both of them."

Cheteshwar Pujara identified the player he believes could emerge as the most expensive Indian buy: "I think it will be Ravi Bishnoi because they want to pick a lot of spinners, and he’s one of the best bowlers in this auction. I think Ravi Bishnoi will be the most expensive Indian player."

Another former player and commentator Mohammad Kaif shared his view on Cameron’s selection: "He’ll go to KKR because their plan is to dominate the auction. They released so many players to free up money. With Cameron Green available, I think KKR will go all out — money will dominate their bid, and they need a replacement for Russell, so he’s the best fit."

Commentator Irfan Pathan shared his assessment of fast bowlers who could attract strong bids: "Look, if you talk about international fast bowlers, I think Matheesha Pathirana will still be a hot pick because of the skill level he brings, even though he’s had some fitness issues and an off year. Gerald Coetzee is another interesting name — not just for his bowling, but he can also bat down at No. 8, which adds balance. And then there’s Ashok Sharma, whose speed and ability to hit the stumps make him one to watch. These three are the ones I think will be hot picks in the auction."

Commentator Aakash Chopra assessed Kartik Sharma’s skill set and potential impact: "Very few Indian players can bat at No. 5, 6 or 7 and hit big sixes consistently, and Kartik Sharma clearly has that ability. He’s not a one-season wonder — he has been hitting continuously and has made a lot of runs in franchise trials. We’ve seen how teams now value Indian middle-order hitters who can finish games, and Kartik fits that profile perfectly. That’s why I believe he could be one of the most expensive uncapped Indians. Keep an eye on him."

Robin Uthappa commented on Kolkata Knight Riders' bidding strategy for Australian all-rounder Cameron Green and Chennai Super Kings' likely approach for the 2026 auction.

"I knew CSK would also go after a middle-order all-rounder. I thought they would go somewhere around 25-28 crore. Realistically, I think they would go up to around ₹20 crore in the actual auction, because they would want to keep space for other Indian and overseas players as well. But in the mock auctions, I was ready to go up to 35 crore for a player like Green. I think Cameron Green should bat at No. 3 in the order," Uthappa said.

Australian all-rounder Cameron Green is likely to be one of the priciest picks. Several teams will be searching for a hard-hitting all-rounder, and he will be part of the first set. South Africa's Quinton de Kock, George Linde, and Sri Lanka's Dunith Wellalage, who were not on the initial list, have now been added to the final roster

In the Rs 75 lakh category, 42 players have entered, and four have chosen Rs 50 lakh. Additionally, seven players have a reserve price of Rs 40 lakh, and the largest group, 227 players, is in the Rs 30 lakh bracket.

A total of nine players are in the Rs 1.5 crore bracket. Four players have set a reserve price of Rs 1.25 crore, and 17 have set their base price at Rs 1 crore.

Franchises will go hammer and tongs for 77 slots in total, including 31 reserved for overseas players. The highest reserve price remains Rs 2 crore, with 40 players choosing to enter the auction in this bracket.

As per a report, 1390 players registered for the IPL 2026 player auction this year, in which 350 were shortlisted. However, the additions yesterday took the total to 369. The pool also comprises 242 uncapped Indian players and 14 uncapped overseas players, adding significant depth and fresh talent to this year's auction roster.

The player list for the 2026 season auction has been finalised, with 369 players, including 254 Indian cricketers and 115 overseas.
