IPL 2026: Rajasthan Royals will try to make a brilliant comeback during the upcoming season of the IPL, after finishing in second position in the points table last year. The former champions roped in a few players during the mini auction last year, including star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and wrist spinner Ravi Bishnoi on their side. But all eyes will be on their star-studded batting lineup, which Yashasvi Jaiswal will spearhead. And according to Jaiswal's first training session, the Rajasthan-based franchise will have a flying start to the next season.
This optimism was reflected in a viral video from Jaiswal’s first training session, where he was seen smashing huge sixes that left Jadeja visibly stunned.
"Abhi keh raha hai neend nahi hui raatko. Room mei practice karke aaya hai yeh (He was saying he hadn't slept well at night. But he's come after practicing in the room)," Jadeja was heard as saying in the video.

Reflecting on last year, Jaiswal scored 559 runs in 14 matches during IPL 2025. However, his standout performances could not prevent the team from finishing ninth, as it narrowly lost several run chases.
Looking ahead, RR traded for Jadeja before this season, following long-time skipper Sanju Samson’s transfer to the Chennai Super Kings. However, the Riyan Parag-led squad faces a setback as England's all-rounder Sam Curran, also part of the trade deal, might miss the entire season due to injury.

Amid these changes, all Rajasthan Royals fans will be closely watching Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. Set to play his second IPL season, he made an impact last year with 252 runs in seven matches, including the fastest-ever hundred by an Indian batter in the tournament, achieved in just 35 balls.
