IPL Auction 2024: The fierce bidding battle will take centre stage in Dubai on Tuesday as ten teams will look to fill the remaining spots in their squads for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2024. 333 cricketers will try their luck in the auction to grab a place in the cricket's richest league.
There are 214 Indians and 119 overseas players, with two from associate nations among the 333 listed players. There are 116 capped and 215 uncapped players and two from associate nations.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will head into the auction with the highest purse money of Rs 34 crores to fill six spots in their squad including three overseas players. However, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will have the least purse of Rs 13.15 to add six players to their squad including two overseas players.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) - Purse, available slots, retained players
CSK purse - Rs 31.4 crore
CSK's purse got a major boost with the release of England all-rounder Ben Stokes before the auction and will give them strategic edge in the mega event in Dubai. CSK management will look to add key players to the squad to fill in for the released players.
CSK available slots - 6 (3 overseas)
CSK have six slots to bid for and their priority would be to find a replacement for Stokes and Ambti Rayudu. Pace bowling is another area where they will look to add international bowlers to their squad.\

Delhi Capitals - Purse, available slots, retained players
DC purse - Rs 28.95 crore
Delhi Capitals have nine slots to fill in their squad, second most after KKR. The franchise released 11 players before the auction to add fresh faces. DC played their last season with their captain Rishabh Pant and expect him to be available for the 2024 season.
DC available slots - 9 (four overseas)
The prime target for DC will be all-rounders, middle-order batters and an additional wicketkeeper to fill for Pant in case of his unavailability as a wicketkeeper. They have four overseas slots to bid for.

GT purse - Rs 38.15 crore
Last year's runners-up Gujarat Titans (GT) will head into the auction with the second-largest purse to purchase eight players to complete their squad. After trading captain and all-rounder Hardik Pandya to Mumbai Indians, they have a hefty amount to start a bidding war for any particular player in the auction.

They will target Pandy's replacement in the squad while the leadership role will be donned by the youngster Shubman Gill with Kane Williamson to assist the opener. After letting go of KS Bharat, the addition of another Indian wicketkeeper will be on their cards along with overseas pacers.
