England vs India 5th Test: Joe Root has etched his name in the history books as he achieved a massive feat during the fifth and final Test against India at the Kennington Oval on Sunday.

Root has become the first batter in the world to complete 6000 runs in the World Test Championship. The ongoing fifth Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy is Root’s 69th match for England in the WTC, and he has 6000 runs to his credit.

The right-handed batter is England's highest run-getter in Test cricket and has been in remarkable form over the past few years. Root, who got out for 29 runs in the first innings, needed 25 runs in the second innings to complete 6000 runs in the WTC, and he achieved the objective during the afternoon session of the fourth day’s play.
