IPL 2025: England players like Jofra Archer, Sam Curran, and Jamie Overton won't be coming back to India this week to feature in the rest of the IPL 2025 matches, but others like Jos Buttler, Jacob Bethell, Will Jacks, and Liam Livingstone would be returning to India on Wednesday to play the rest of the matches of IPL 2025 matches. Rajasthan Royals bought Archer for a whopping amount of Rs 12.50 crore during the mega auction last year and featured in all the 12 matches played till now.
At the same time, Sam Curran and Jamie Overton, who played for CSK this year. Both RR and CSK have been knocked out of the race for the playoffs.
As per a Cricbuzz report, “Information obtained from the ECB and franchises, Buttler, former England white-ball captain, will reach Ahmedabad on Wednesday night, and the same is the case with Will Jacks, the Mumbai Indians all-rounder, who should be at the Wankhede Stadium for practice from Thursday (April 15). Liam Livingstone, the all-rounder from Lancashire, who is with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), is believed to be on a flight to Bengaluru. There is, however, no clarity on Phil Salt, the other recruit from England, but Bethell is understood to be on his way to India."

During an interaction with Cricbuzz, CSK revealed that “Curran and Overton are not coming back, and the franchise has no plans to seek temporary replacements for the England players."
According to a Rajasthan Royal official, Archer won't be playing as he has sustained an injury. “It is not a case of not being willing because we are out of reckoning for the playoffs. He is nurturing an injury, and we are prioritising his fitness," an RR official was quoted as saying to Cricbuzz.
IPL 2025 resumes on May 17
The IPL 2025 is all set to restart from May 17, as it had been suspended last week for seven days owing to the India-Pakistan conflict. Royal Challengers Bengaluru will lock horns with Kolkata Knight Riders in Bengaluru on May 17th. The playoffs would be held on May 29th, and the summit clash would be held on June 3.
