India batter Kedar Jadhav has announced his retirement from all forms of the game through a social media post he shared on Monday, June 3.

Jadhav represented India in 73 ODIs and 9 T20I matches, scoring 1389 and 122 runs respectively. His last appearance for the national team came in February 2020 in an ODI match on the New Zealand tour.

The 39-year-old also contributed with his handy off-spin and picked up 27 ODI wickets as well.

Jadhav made public the news of retirement just like his former India and Chennai Super Kings teammate and long-time friend MS Dhoni had announced in 2020.

He shared a slideshow of photos from his career with a retro Bollywood song playing in the background and captioned the post: "Thank you all For your love and support throughout my Career from 1500 hrs. Consider me as retired from all forms of cricket."

Jadhav, who made his international debut in an ODI match against Sri Lanka in November 2014, was part of India's 2019 ODI World Cup team in England and Wales.

While the right-handed batter scored just 80 runs in the all-important tournament, India were eliminated with a semi-final defeat against New Zealand.

Arguably, Jadhav's biggest moment under the sun came during the Pune ODI against England in January 2017, when he got his second ODI ton. He smacked a brutal 76-ball 120 with 12 fours and four sixes to fire India to a three-wicket win in a high-scoring contest.

Jadhav teamed up with Virat Kohli (122) to put on 200 from a mere 147 balls for the fifth wicket after India were reduced to 63/4 at one stage, chasing 351.

In the Indian Premier League, the right-handed batter played for Chennai Super Kings, (formerly) Delhi Daredevils, now-defunct Kochi Tuskers Kerala, (formerly) Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

He played 95 matches in his IPL career, scoring 1208 runs at an average of 22.37 and became the title winner with CSK in 2018.
