India's star batter KL Rahul will be one of the players to watch out for in the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 at home as he remains the backbone of the team's middle order.
Rahul led the Indian team in the first two ODIs of the three-match series against Australia and helped the Men in Blue take a 2-0 lead in the series.
He is confident about the team's campaign in the upcoming marquee event as he recalled memories of India’s famous 2011 triumph and hoped that the present team could also give fans a reason to celebrate.

India co-hosted the 2011 World Cup with Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. They went on to lift the title by defeating Sri Lanka in the final. This was India's second-ever ODI World Cup title win, having won it back in 1983 under the leadership of legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev.
In the upcoming edition, India are set to host the entire tournament solely for the first time in history.
"I was in Bangalore and watching the games with a few friends. I remember when we lost two quick wickets, all of us thought the game was gone. Later, when we won, we ended up driving to the busiest area in Bangalore and it was a scene, everyone was jumping and celebrating. It was a proud moment for all of us as Indians and hopefully, we can recreate it for the people in our country," Rahul said in a chat on JioCinema.
Rahul has been in sublime touch since his return to the team after a long injury break as he smashed a crucial century against arch-rivals Pakistan in the Super Four clash.
He continued his brilliant form in the first two matches against the Aussies as well and he scored half-centuries in both matches.
Rahul, who was part of the 2019 World Cup squad, will be playing his first World Cup at home.

"It's my first World Cup at home. For a lot of us, it's our first World Cup at home. Hope it's going to be exciting. Expectations are going through the roof, but it's always like that with the Indian team. Fingers crossed that we go out there and put on a good performance for the crowds that come in and the people of our country and give something that will make people proud," he added.
India will begin their World Cup 2023 campaign against Australia in Chennai on October 8.
