Born in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh, Kuldeep comes from humble roots and a lower-middle-class background but never compromised with his dreams and went on to become one of the most decorated spin bowlers in India.

Kuldeep Yadav’s international career began in April 2012 when the then-17-year-old cricketer played his first U19 game.

He came into the limelight during his IPL days as he initially started his journey in the Mumbai Indians camp but couldn’t earn a debut that year.

He was later signed by Kolkata Knight Riders in 2014 and played for them till the 2021 season, picking up 71 wickets in 73 matches he played for them.

Kuldeep's improved performances every year brought him to notice among the national selectors and went on to make his debut during a Test match against Australia at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala in March 2017.

He made his maiden appearances in the other formats two months later and became a regular in India's white-ball setup.

Later in 2017, Kuldeep bagged an ODI hat-trick against Australia at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, becoming the only third Indian bowler alongside the likes of Kapil Dev and Chetan Sharma to do so.

The 29-year-old then joined Delhi Capitals in 2021 and has taken 31 wickets for them so far in 28 matches.

As of today, Kuldeep has played a total of 101 ODIs and taken 167 wickets. He also has 34 Test wickets and 53 scalps in T20 internationals.
