MI vs DC, IPL 2024: Rohit Sharma had a memorable outing during the match against Delhi Capitals with Mumbai Indians winning at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday, April 7.

While MI registered their first win of the season after three successive defeats, Rohit ended up achieving multiple milestones.

MI defeated Delhi Capitals by 29 runs in match 20 of the IPL 2024 to jump to the eighth spot in the points table with two points under their belt.

With the victory, MI became the first side to reach 150 wins in the shortest format

Rohit, who contributed in his way with the bat in the victory, achieved a milestone in the final over of the match when he took the catch of Jhye Richardson.

Richardson's dismissal helped Rohit complete his 100th catch in his IPL career as he joined some big names in the elite list.

Rohit is now only the fourth outfield player to take 100 or more catches in IPL history with former RCB skipper Virat Kohli topping the list.

The former MI skipper also became the first Indian player to be part of 250 wins in the T20 format with the five-time champions completing their 150th win in the format.

Rohit, who scored 49 runs in 27 balls with the help of six fours and three sixes in the match, ended up going past 1000 runs against Delhi Capitals.

He became the third batter in the history of the IPL to score 1000 or more runs against multiple teams.

Rohit, who is known for his power-hitting in the white-ball formats, became the player with most number of sixes against a single opposition in the IPL history, hitting three sixes on Sunday.

Talking about the match, the massive crowd witnessed a high-scoring contest with 439 runs being scored but MI ended on the right side.

After being put into bat first, MI posted a mammoth total of 234/5 in their 20 overs with notable contributions from Rohit, Ishan Kishan (42), skipper Hardik Pandya (39) and Tim David (45*).

The most jaw-dropping moment of the match came in MI's 20th over when Romario Shepherd smashed Anrich Nortje for 32 runs in an over.

He remained unbeaten on 39 off just 10 balls on the back of three fours and four sixes.

Chasing the target, DC were restricted to 205/8, suffering a 29-run defeat despite an unbeaten fighting knock of 71 in just 25 balls from Tristan Stubbs whereas Prithvi Shaw scored 66 in 40 deliveries.

For the hosts, Gerald Coetzee picked four wickets for 34 runs in his four overs whereas Jasprit Bumrah and Romario ended up picking two and a wicket respectively.
