Ex-India skipper MS Dhoni might have stopped playing international cricket but his love for sports except cricket keeps on growing. Earlier he was found playing tennis in Jharkhand with his friends and then he also went to the USA to play golf with his friends. As if playing these sports weren't enough for him, he then picked up a badminton racquet and played a brilliant smash thus leaving his opponents stunned. Dhoni showed once again that he is fit as a fiddle and can still play a lot of cricket.

A video went viral on social media in which Dhoni is seen playing a jump smash on a badminton court at full speed. Although he struggled for most of IPL 2024 with a knee injury while representing Chennai Super Kings now it looks like he has fully recovered. In the badminton session, he played a smash shot, and his opponents were left completely clueless.

Will Dhoni return for IPL 2025?

There are speculations as to whether Dhoni will play for CSK in IPL 2025 or not. According to the IPL rulebook, any player who has retired from international cricket for more than five years should be called uncapped but this rule was dismissed in 2021. Talking about this issue, Kasi Vishwanath, who is the CEO of CSK, dismissed all these rumors and said that it's the BCCI who will make changes in all the rules.

At the same time, Dhoni also talked about his IPL retirement plans and revealed that the decision would be made based on the retention rules of the IPL 2025 mega auctions.

"There's a lot of time left for the franchises and management to decide on the retention rules and everything. So when all of it is decided, then we will take a decision. So no we don't have the ball in our court. When the regulations are decided, then we will be able to take a call...At the end of the day, we will have to take a decision which is best for CSK, and that is the ultimate goal," Dhoni was quoted as saying at an event.
