Shikhar Dhawan, who hung up his boots from both international and domestic cricket on Saturday morning, also shared a heartwarming message for his son Zoravar. The ex-India cricketer hoped that his son remembered him as a good person. He also wished that his son knew about his cricketing career and his retirement. Dhawan was close with his son but recently revealed that he hasn't been able to get in touch with him since he divorced his ex-wife Ayesha Mukherjee. The 38-year-old batter ended his brilliant career and is now eagerly waiting for the next stage of his life.
"Zoravar is 11 now. I hope he gets to know about my retirement and all about my cricket journey. But more than as a cricketer, I would like for Zoravar to remember me as a good human being" Dhawan was quoted as saying to the Hindustan Times. Zoravar and his mother Ayesha are currently residing in Australia ever since the couple announced their divorce last year.

Shikhar took to his official Instagram account and announced his retirement from the sport and also thanked everyone for allowing him to play for India.
"It's important to turn the page to move forward in life and that's why I am announcing my retirement from international and domestic cricket. I am leaving with peace in my heart that I played for so long for India. I tell myself not to feel sad that you will not play for India anymore, but to feel happy that you played for your country" Dhawan was quoted as saying in a video shared on his Instagram account.
He played his debut international match in 2010 and scored 24 hundreds, of which 17 were scored in the 50-over format and seven in the longest format after representing India in 269 international matches.
