Mumbai's three-day warm-up match against Maharashtra took an ugly turn at the MCA Stadium in Gahunje on Tuesday when out-of-favour India opener Prithiv Shaw clashed with some of his former Mumbai teammates and swiped his bat at one of the players.
During the match, Shaw smashed a magnificent 181 in a crucial innings, his first outing against his former team Mumbai since switching to Maharashtra. However, his shining knock was spoiled by a heated argument with his ex-teammates.
In a viral video, Shaw handed an easy catch to the fielder at the deep square leg while attempting a slog on the leg side off Musheer's delivery.
The match took a surprising turn after Shaw's dismissal, sparking a heated altercation between him and Mumbai players, particularly Musheer Khan. He took umbrage and was seen attempting to swing his bat at Musheer, prompting on-field umpires to intervene and split the players as Shaw headed back to the pavilion.
