IND vs ENG Tests: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday announced that all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has been ruled out of the remaining two Tests owing to a left knee injury, while seamer Arshdeep Singh will miss the fourth Test against England at Manchester.
In an official statement, BCCI stated, "All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has been ruled out of the remaining two Tests owing to a left knee injury. Nitish will fly back home and the team wishes him a speedy recovery."
Reddy, who scored some crucial runs in the Lord's Test match last week, sustained a knee injury on July 20 and later he damaged his ligament during a gym session on Sunday, which eventually ruled him out of the series.
The 22-year-old all-rounder had a mixed outing with his all-rounder abilities across two matches. After going wicketless in Birmingham, Reddy showcased promise as a seam-bowling all-rounder as he produced a vital spell at Lord's, removing England openers Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley.
Additionally, he chipped in with crucial runs, scoring 30 and 13 with the bat.
Arshdeep, who is yet to make his Test debut, sustained an impact injury to his left thumb while bowling in the nets at a training session in Beckenham.
The BCCI also informed that Nitish will fly back home, and the Medical Team is monitoring Arshdeep's progress.
Informing about the inclusion of the seamer Anshul Kamboj to the squad, " the Men’s Selection Committee has added Anshul Kamboj to the squad. Kamboj has joined the team in Manchester. The fourth Test will kickstart on July 23, 2025."
This recent development further complicated things for India as they are dealing with several injuries and heading into the Manchester Test, the Shubman Gill-led side is unlikely to have the services of Akash Deep as well.
India’s updated squad for fourth Test: Shubman Gill (C), Rishabh Pant (VC & WK), Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Karun Nair, Ravindra Jadeja, Dhruv Jurel (WK), Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd. Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Akash Deep, Kuldeep Yadav, Anshul Kamboj.
