WI vs AUS 1st T20I: Explosive half-centuries by debutant Mitch Owen and comeback man Cameron Green guided Australia to a three-wicket victory over West Indies in the T20I opener of the five-match series at the Sabina Park in Kingston on Monday.

After registering a comprehensive win in a high-scoring contest at Arnos Vale Ground Australia took a 1-0 lead in the five-match T20I series.

In an impressive debut, Owen showcased his all-round skills, claiming a crucial wicket with his medium pace bowling before returning to smash 50 off 27 balls. His explosive all-round show at Sabina Park helped Australia chase down a 190-run target with ease, with seven balls to spare.

Chasing an imposing 190 runs, Australia's chase got off to a rocky start, with both openers Mitchell Marsh and Jake Fraser-McGurk departing early inside the powerplay, leaving the Aussies to overhaul from a perilous position. However, the visitors were propped up by an 80-run stand by Green (51) and Owen.

Green unleashed a furious 26-ball fifty cameo, whipping five sixes to propel Australia towards a win. Meanwhile, Owen also smashed sixes with ease before ultimately falling in the 17th over, just as Australia was on the cusp of victory.
