England Cricket Team vs New Zealand National Cricket Team Match Scorecard: England captain Harry Brook and Phil Salt played quintessential T20 knocks to help England beat New Zealand by 65 runs at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch on Monday. Courtesy of the onslaught by Brook (78) and Salt (85), England took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series T20I series. Interestingly, the first match between the two sides yielded no result after it got washed out due to rain.
Brook and Phil smashed 129 runs from 69 balls together as England posted a gigantic score of 236-4 after being put in to bat.
New Zealand could only manage 171 in reply in 18 overs. The hosts will play to save the series as both teams will head into the third and final match in Auckland on Thursday.

The Blackcaps won the toss and elected to bowl first. Their bowlers started well as England lost Jos Buttler in the second over but Salt and Jacob Bethell (24) continued the momentum until spinner Michael Bracewell took out the southpaw in the sixth over.
Brook cleared the ropes five times in a 35-ball blitz that had several hits clattering into or over the Hagley Oval roof. Tom Banton, who made 29 not out, produced a 12-ball cameo to help England post the highest T20 International total at the venue.
