New Zealand vs West Indies 1st T20I: New Zealand will be up against the West Indies in the first T20I match at Eden Park in Auckland on Wednesday, November 5. Both teams will face off in a five-match T20I series followed by three ODI matches.

New Zealand will be high on confidence after their recent incredible performance in the home series against England. They will be heading into the match on the back of a 3-0 whitewash ODI series win over England, having defeated them by 2 wickets in the third and final match in Wellington on Saturday. However, they lost the three-match T20I series 0-1.

Mitchell Santner will continue to lead the Blackcaps in the T20Is, whereas Shai Hope will be leading the West Indies team. In a major setback to the hosts, star opener Tim Seifert has been ruled out of the T20I series due to a finger injury. Mitchell Hay was called up to replace Seifert as New Zealand continue to gear up for the T20 World Cup 2026.
