In the first match of the day, the Netherlands, opting to bat first, put up a challenging score of 262 runs before they were bowled out in the last over.
Chasing the target, Sri Lanka were clinical enough to reach the target with five wickets in hand and 10 balls remaining.
This was their first win of the tournament after picking up three losses in the first three matches.
In the second match, the defending champions once again put up a below-average performance, suffering yet another defeat.
After winning the toss, Jos Buttler put the Proteas into bat first and the decision turned out to be a concerning one as they were set a target of 400 runs.
England were never going to chase down the massive total with four wickets down inside the 10 overs.
It was just a matter of time for Souta Africa as they kept taking wickets at regular intervals. No English batter managed to hit even a fifty as they were bowled out for 170 runs in just 22 overs to suffer their third defeat in the four matches.
The Proteas, after the win have taken the third position in the ODI World Cup 2023 points table with six points under their belt.
