Pakistan and Sri Lanka will face off in the fifth match of the Super Four stage in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Thursday.

Pakistan suffered a huge defeat of 228 runs against India in their last match while Sri Lanka bowed down to the same opposition. India got the better of Sri Lanka in the last Super Four clash, securing a victory by 41 runs.

Sri Lanka and Pakistan will be meeting for the first time in this year’s continental championship. The penultimate Super Four game will be a do-or-die for both teams. The winner will qualify for the finals to be played on September 17 at the same venue against India.

A few thunderstorm outbreaks are predicted for the evening, which could cause the game to be shortened. It is important to note that there is no reserve day for the game.

If the match gets suspended, both teams will end up with equal points on the points table. Sri Lanka, with a higher Net Run Rate, will advance to the championship game in such a scenario.

As per Weather.com, there is a 100% chance of rain in Colombo on Thursday with a 99% chance of rain at 3 PM IST when the game starts.
As the match progresses the probability of rain is expected to decrease to 24% in the Super Four clash.
It is highly likely that today's match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be affected by rain just like their previous matches in the tournament with the heavy rain prediction for the day.

PAK vs SL Match Injury Update: No fresh injury has been reported in the Sri Lankan camp so far.

Pakistan have made multiple changes in their squad. Mohammad Wasim Jr has replaced Naseem Shah while Zaman Khan has replaced Haris Rauf. Along with pacers, Fakhar Zaman, who failed to live up to the expectations with the bat, is replaced by Mohammad Haris in the top order.

Saud Shakeel will further bolster the middle order, replacing Salman Ali Agha in the playing 11 while Faheem Ashraf, has been replaced by Mohammad Nawaz.
