Pakistan vs Sri Lanka, Asia Cup 2025 Super Fours: Pakistan will be in action once again when they face Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2025 Super Fours at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, September 23.

Pakistan witnessed another disappointing performance as they suffered a 6-wicket defeat against the arch-rivals India. While Pakistan are yet to play a perfect game, they face a threat of the possibility of missing out on the final.

When Pakistan suffered a seven-wicket defeat to India in the group stage, they needed to beat the UAE to secure a spot in the Super-Four. Pakistan are now need to beat both Sri Lanka and Bangladesh (significantly tougher opponents than the UAE and Oman) to have a shot at the final.

There will be three matches left in the tournament, India against Bangladesh, Pakistan against Bangladesh and India against Sri Lanka. Pakistan will then need to beat the Bangladesh and then hope that rivals India beat both the Litton Das-led side and Sri Lanka, leaving all three sides except the Men in Blue with two points each.

It will then remain among Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Pakistan have the better Net Run-Rate. Currently, Pakistan have the worst NRR in the group at -0.689, compared to the second-worst, Sri Lanka’s -0.121.

Hence, Pakistan will not crash out of the Asia Cup if they lose to Sri Lanka and will be alive, just about. However, they’ll need the following conditions to fall in place in order to stand a chance for the final qualification.

1: India to beat Bangladesh by a big margin.

2: Pakistan to beat Bangladesh by a big margin

3: India to beat Sri Lanka by a big margin.

The scenarios clarify that Pakistan will no longer be able to meet anyone apart from India in the final, if they lose to Sri Lanka.
