Pakistan National Cricket Team Batting Collapse: Former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar unleashed a salvo of criticism of the Mohammad Rizwan-led team's batters for dismal performance in the third and last ODI against West Indies, which they ended up losing by 202 runs in Trinidad.
In the third and final ODI of the three-match series at Tarouba, Pakistan were handed a crushing 202-run defeat by the Windies as they Men in Green surrendered for just 92 in pursuit of a 295-run target.
Akhtar also lambasted the team for lacking collective intent, accusing them of not playing for the team.
“We used to have expressive and explosive talent and we played like that. We were never dependent on one individual; everyone chipped in," Akhtar said while speaking on the Game On Hai show.
“No one used to look for escape routes. The environment has changed and in the last 10–15 years, everyone has started playing for themselves. Everyone is playing for their averages," Akhtar added.
“We need to change the intent, the mindset and create that atmosphere. You need to play according to modern cricket. How hard is that to understand?" Akhtar questioned.
He also outlined the root cause of Pakistan's batting woes, stating that the team struggles to cope with even the slightest seam movement off the pitch, and it repeatedly catches their batters off guard.
“Halka sa seam hota hai toh musibat padh jaati hai (The ball moves a bit and they are in trouble). Rawalpindi pitch lekar nahi ghoom sakte (You can’t carry Pindi pitches everywhere)," Akhtar said.
Rizwan's Pakistan slumped from 23/4 to 92 all out, uncovering the flaws in their batting lineup as Jayden Seales ripped apart their batting lineup.

In pursuit of a 295-run target, three Pakistan batters were sent back in the hut for ducks among the top four batting line-up.
Openers Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique failed to show any resistance against the West Indies attack. Rizwan was bowled for a golden duck by Seales and their fate was sealed when Babar Azam was trapped lbw for just nine runs, leading to a historic collapse.
