Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain Pat Cummins lavished praise on Vaibhav Sooryavanshi after their intense Indian Premier League 2026 match against Rajasthan Royals.

Speaking after the game, Cummins said he really enjoys watching Sooryavanshi bat and even called him his “new favourite player.” He spoke about how the youngster plays without fear and can take on bowlers from the very start, which makes him exciting to watch.

"I think he's my new favourite player. He hits the ball so hard, it's great to watch, it's good fun. You've got to be right on the money as a bowler because if you're not, it's going a long way," Cummins said.

Sooryavanshi has quickly made a name for himself in the tournament. His attacking style and ability to score quickly have caught the attention of both experts and rival teams. He has also added more strength to Rajasthan’s batting this season.

Cummins also said that the youngster has begun his career in a very impressive way. He praised his confidence and the way he goes after the game without holding back.

"He's had a great start to his career and I love the way he plays, he takes the game on," he added.
