The sporting relations between India and Bangladesh took a downturn as speculations are rife that the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has snubbed Ridhima Pathak from BPL 2026. This decision is being seen as the latest effect in an already loosening diplomatic and sporting relations between these two teams. But Pathak, who is known as a popular sports broadcaster, has dismissed such claims, and she voluntarily pulled out of the tournament owing to current political relations.

These relations worsened after BCCI told KKR to let go of Bangladeshi fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman. The Bangladesh government had put a ban on the telecast of the Indian Premier League and requested that the venues of the T20 World Cup be moved to Sri Lanka.

Between this ongoing tussle of BCCI and the BCB, a lot of Bangladeshi media reported that Pathak has been snubbed from the BPL. Pathak then clarified her decision to pull out from this tournament on her own.

She took to her social media account and revealed, "In the last few hours, there's been a narrative suggesting I was 'dropped' from the BPL. That is not true. I made a personal decision to opt out. For me, my nation comes first, always. And I value the game of cricket far beyond any single assignment. I've been privileged to serve this sport for years with honesty, respect, and passion. That won't change. I'll continue to stand for integrity, for clarity, and for the spirit of the game. Thank you to everyone who reached out with support. Your messages mean more than you know. Bangladesh's Response To Mustafizur Rahman's IPL Ouster:

Shift T20 World Cup Matches: The BCB told the ICC that they won't send their players to India for the T20 World Cup owing to security reasons, and that's why they asked for a change in venue.

IPL Broadcast Ban: The Bangladesh government had then banned the live telecast of IPL.

Since the tussle is still ongoing, the BCB got a huge blow in their attempt to get their matches shifted to Sri Lanka. The ICC has informed them that they will have to play their matches in India or risk losing points, whereas there is also uncertainty about Bangladeshi golfers playing in the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI).
