PBKS vs DC IPL 2025: Punjab Kings' star wrist spinner Yuzvendra Chahal is not playing during their IPL 2025 match against DC in Jaipur on Saturday. Punjab Kings are aiming to finish in the top two after teams like RCB and GT lost in their previous matches.
Chahal was last seen in action during their IPL 2025 match against RR at the same stadium earlier this month after the ongoing season restarted. He had given away 30 runs and went wicketless during the four overs that he bowled in that match.
PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer revealed that Australian players like Josh Inglis and Marcus Stoinis returned to the playing XI post giving the match against RR a miss. But Iyer didn't mention the reason behind Chahal getting snubbed and it only came to everyone's attention when the team sheet was revealed.

"It's happy faces around right from the team owners and management with the Q coming in. I am not satisfied yet. Everyone has chipped in at the right time which gives us confidence. Job is half done, important we stay in the present and seize every opportunity we get. Inglis and Stoinis come back in," Iyer was heard saying at the time of the toss.
It isn't clear as to why Chahal has missed their ongoing match against DC. If either he is injured or suffering from an illness, then the Punjab-based franchise would hope that he recovers well in time ahead of their last group stage match.
Chahal had sustained a shoulder injury during their clash against KKR, which the Shreyas Iyr-led side historically won by defending a target of 111 runs. He was also adjudged the Player of the Math award for registering match-winning figures of 4/28.
"I think we have to give a lot of credit for tonight to Chahal because we put the pressure on him this week. He hurt his shoulder in that last game," Ricky Ponting had told the broadcasters during the post-match presentation that day.
In Chahal's absence, Harpreet Brar will be spearheading PBKS' spin department. He is in sublime form and has registered match-winning figures of 3/22 during their clash against RR.
Yuzvendra Chahal has picked up 14 wickets in 12 matches in IPL 2025
Yuzvendra Chahal hasn't been at his absolute best this season. Except for his match-winning figures against teams like CSK and KKR, where he took four wickets each, he has gone through a lean patch.
He didn't have a great start for his new team this season, as he had taken just one wicket during his first four games. He has taken 14 wickets after playing in 12 matches at an economy of 9.47 as Punjab Kings and he bounces back to form during the playoffs.
