IPL 2025:Chennai Super Kings (CSK) games will not be previewed on Ravichandran Ashwin's YouTube channel for the remainder of IPL 2025 following a social-media outcry over some guests on the channel lambasting some of the team's players.
In one of CSK's matches, former South Africa and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) analyst Prasanna Agoram raised questions on the franchise's decision to play Afghanistan spinner Noor Ahmad ahead of R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja in the squad.
The comment did not sit well with many fans and they argued against axing the purple cap holder in the tournament.
Soon after the sharp reaction on social media, the video was down as CSK slumped to their third straight loss.
On Sunday, an admin note was published on Ashwin's YouTube channel, saying that they will not cover CSK's games for the rest of the season.
"Given the nature of the discussions on this forum over the last week, we want to be mindful of how things can be interpreted and have chosen to step away from covering CSK games, both previews and reviews, for the rest of this season," read a note from the admin of Ashwin's channel.
"We value the diversity of perspectives that come through on our shows and remain committed to ensuring the conversation stays true to the integrity and purpose of the platform we've established. The views expressed by our guests do not reflect Ashwin's personal opinions," it added.

Meanwhile, CSK head coach Stephen Fleming was asked about the controversy, however, he was quick to shut down the comment, saying that he was unaware that Ashwin had a YouTube channel.
"I have no idea. I didn't even know he [Ashwin] had a channel, so I don't follow that stuff. That's irrelevant," Fleming said.
