Veteran India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has put his weight behind T20I captain Hardik Pandya's statement on West Indies citing an example of bizarre situation which came up during the 3rd T20I on Tuesday. It all happened when the start of the play was delayed for a unique reason, something not heard ever in the more than 100 years of history of cricket.
The match was delayed because the ground staff reportedly forgot to draw the 30-yard circle on the ground at the Providence Stadium. It was only noticed after the umpires and players had walked into the ground and had to go back into the pavilion.

The bizarre incident has prompted India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin to term the West Indies an easy place to tour "for reasons like this". Check out the tweet here:
Unique delay! It’s not an easy place to tour for reasons like this.

As a cricketer one has to be switched on all the time and always expect the unexpected.
All the best to @ybj_19 💪💪 Go well Chinni Paiyaa 🤩#INDvsWI
Earlier, Hardik criticised West Indies Cricket Board for not providing basic amenities during the series. "Things can be better when we come to West Indies next time. Things like travel... hopefully, the West Indies cricket board can take note and ensure that there are no hiccups. We don't ask for luxury but we need some basic necessities taken care of," Pandya said in the post-match presentation.
Pandya's comments came amid reports that the Indian team was stranded at the airport for approximately four hours due to delayed flights.
